 FAP launches new X-change service

Thursday, January 31, 2002

Find a Property has launched a new facility that allows estate agents to maximise their use of the internet by exchanging property details quickly and easily. Using the new X-Change Service allows agents to:

  • Share property details with other branches of their company.
  • Share property details with other Agencies.
  • Create a "guest list" of branches or joint agency partners.
  • Update from anywhere - synchronise property details on their laptop or PC.
  • Permit third parties such as portals, local press and property magazines, to retrieve their property details.

The X-Change system is built into Find a Property's in house software, Find a Property Editor. This powerful tool, provided free of charge to all their customers, can perform a wide range of administrative tasks as well as allowing agents to update their property listing from their own desktop. The 700 agency offices currently using Find a Property Editor now have the additional option of sharing their property details as and when they wish.

Philip Knight of Rayners (part of Connect, a group of five leading independent estate agencies in East Surrey and West Sussex ) says the X-Change Service is an excellent development which has made life a lot easier: "It's a very good system, very user friendly. Applicants are impressed that they can see what the entire Connect Group has to offer. We can bring up all the properties matching their requirements, so we're not offering one property from one office, we're offering 26 from all twelve offices. It works really well".

Neil Sewell of Churchills (a member of the Association of Richmond Independent Estate Agents) is equally enthusiastic: "It's very effective. You don't have to pick up the phone and ring other agents - the properties come through automatically with text and photos when you do your exchange. It saves a lot of time and it also saves on the cost of printing off details and posting and faxing them to the agents we work closely with".

Find a Property has been in business since April 1997 and has grown steadily into one of the most respected and efficient online property advertisers in the UK. Offered on a nationwide basis, Find a Property concentrates on in-depth coverage of London and the Home Counties, advertising 35,000 properties for more than 670 estate agents with over 1000 branches.
