B&B hooks up with Right Move

Tuesday, January 08, 2002

Bradford & Bingley has moved to strengthen the content at The Marketplace, it's online property and personal finance website, by agreeing to provide access to the extensive property database operated by Rightmove.co.uk.

Like many others, the website now claims to offer customers a one-stop-shop for property and personal finance needs to help take away the stress of buying or selling a new home. However accurate you believe this statement to be, there can be no doubt that the site does now offer a pretty broad set of personal financial services, with the added bonus of big name brand security.

And it is not just the Rightmove or Bradford & Bingley brands that customers deal with, since The Marketplace is positioned as an independent proposition of offering choice across the market. This means that financial services are on offer from a large swathe of UK providers, while househunters can search amongst 150,000 properties on offer from over 3000 agents across the UK as well as Bradford & Bingley's own 316 estate agency branches.

Customers selling their home through Bradford & Bingley will also benefit from their property being advertised on a broad web platform, with properties being advertised on Rightmove, Asserta Home and Fish4Homes, with all Bradford & Bingley's property information being updated daily and withdrawn from the site within 24 hours once sold.

Mark Howe, Bradford & Bingley's marketing director, explains: "The new-look MarketPlace site provides customers with more choice through the home buying process. It's about giving customers the choice to best fit in with their lifestyles. Research has shown that not only do many prefer to control the process of searching for properties, they also like to obtain instantaneous mortgage advice and other related information to the home buying process. Of course, many people still want to do everything face-to-face and they can by visiting our 500 plus branch network. This can also be arranged easily online."

"The site will be a valuable tool for those looking to relocate to other parts of the country for whom the logistics of searching for a new home will be made easier or for investor landlords looking to build on their portfolios around the UK."

If your looking to buy or sell a property or would like independent financial advice on mortgages, insurance, pensions and investments click on www.marketplace.co.uk or call 0800 11 33 33.
