Are you buying "a place in the country"?

Friday, June 07, 2002

Channel 4's new property programme 'A Place In The Country' is a taking a pioneering approach to property buying and lifestyle change. It's a guide to making property work with modern living, and showing house buyers they can own a place in the city and have a slice of the good life on the side.

This trend for buying two homes is increasing, our series will tackle how these more complex property moves can be achieved. The two-pronged attack to house buying will be co-ordinated and expertly assisted by property gurus Kirstie Allsopp and Phil Spencer.

As professional relocators and presenters of the successful Channel 4 series 'Location, Location, Location' Kirstie and Phil keep a keen eye on the changing trends of the property market. Phil says "It's no longer about one house one home, flexible working lives mean that we need property to do more for our money and for our lifestyle. Owning a chic urban base and a place in the country is not about opting out of the rat race, it's about having the best of both worlds."

'A Place In The Country' will examine all elements of changing your property portfolio. Kirstie feels "There's so much more to this than buying bricks and mortar. People need advice on areas, amenities and investment potential. This is all part of what we do and what we will offer in A Place In The Country".

So if you are buying two houses - a base in the city and a house in the country, then contact the production team now. Enquiries will be welcome from potential participants up to the end of July or until further notice.
