Halifax has organised a series of mortgage events during the coming months to offer help and advice to those considering moving house, buying their first home or looking to refinance their current deal, and all those who attend will have the chance to enter a prize draw.

During August, September and October, selected Halifax branches throughout the region will become 'one stop shops' for home movers, first time buyers and those looking to remortgage.

Local estate agents will provide details of available properties, while conveyancers and business assessors will be on hand to answer any questions about arranging a mortgage and the home-buying process.

Philip Adams, Midlands regional sales manager at Halifax, said: "These events are designed to provide a one stop shop for anyone considering moving, remortgaging or buying their first home."

"We expect they will prove very popular, especially since those who attend have the chance of winning £500."

The draw will take place on 20th December, with a first prize of £500, second prize of £300 and third prize of £200, which should come in handy for anyone moving home.
