House prices have showed no sign of slowing despite interest rate rises, according to latest research from the Land Registry, which covers figures for the period April - June 2004.
The average house price rose 17% to £175,401 in the April to June period, compared with a year earlier.
The biggest price increases were seen in the north of England and Wales, where values jumped by more than 25%.
Although the results are somewhat behind recent events they are very complete, being taken from details of every house sale collected on behalf of the Government.
