Budapest, Hungary, with its cosmopolitan coffee shop lifestyle, classical architecture and massive urban re-generation is well and truly at the top of the list for today’s ‘Fly to Let Investor.’ If you’re interested in investing in Hungary’s emerging property market, want to find out what makes it such an attractive proposition and gain access to exclusive investment properties, then come along to the Hungary Investment Property Seminar in London on Tuesday 22nd February.
Budapest Property Professional Michael Patkai will present the seminar and will detail the current market conditions, the buying process, tax and legal issues and answer any questions you have.

For those of you not able to attend here are some handy legal tips to consider when buying property in Hungary:
- The buying process in Hungary is efficient but can be confusing unless you have a good English speaking Hungarian lawyer, particularly one experienced in property transactions.
- Hungarian lawyers are registered at a local chamber. You can check out members of the Budapest Bar Chamber on this website: www.bpbar.hu
- Investors can expect a straightforward procedure. Hungary has a well-developed legal framework and a centralized Land Registry Office.
- In Hungary there is only one solicitor required to countersign a property transaction, and he/she is always commissioned by the buyer, although he/she represents both sides.
- During the purchase of different properties, the legal service shall include the legal check of the property, drafting and reviewing the agreement and preparing additional documentation, representation of the Principal before the Land Registry Office, and confirming the registration of the property under the Principal name and his sole ownership. For the activities mentioned here the attorney fee generally amounts to 1 % + VAT of the purchase price of the property, payable in HUF.
