A new survey has revealed that a massive two thirds of blokes take pride in their toolbox and feel it's their 'duty' as a man to be good at DIY.
And a green-eyed 15 per cent confessed to getting jealous if their mates had better tools than they did.
With Easter just around the corner it's time to dust off your kit and get showing off to the neighbours. But before you do take a peek at what other blokes think - over 2,000 people took part in the survey conducted by Focus DIY.
- A third of men said they love wandering around DIY stores checking out the latest power tools.
- But fourteen per cent went a step further and revealed their toolbox is their pride and joy.
- Trying to keep up with the Joneses -17 per cent of men confessed to taking a sneaky peak in their neighbour's garage to see what tools and gadgets they have.
- But a stingy one in three Britons said they wouldn't let mates or neighbours borrow their beloved tools.
- Half of the men questioned think they're very good at DIY and 28 per cent believe that the lady of the house should stick to less manual jobs.
All this hard graft may not be in vain though, as 23 per cent of women said that a man with a power tool turns them on.
A spokesman for Focus DIY said, "This survey reveals men definitely feel territorial when it comes to DIY. If treated properly, tools can last a lifetime, so it's no wonder men want to look after them."
When it comes to special occasions 88 per cent of men said they would be pleased to receive a tool as a gift compared to only 11 per cent of women. Only four per cent of guys owned no tools what so ever.
