Enquiries about France shot up 50% in the first week of 2008, according to VEF (UK)…
It seems that people really are realising at last that buying property in France is a very wise alternative to the UK and Ireland. The company reports that many of their clients are heading down to the south of France in their search for property, driven by the desire for a better climate. However both Normandy and Burgundy are experiencing a real growth in interest from potential buyers.
January and February are really good months to get out looking for property. The national market remains quiet, normally until March, and there are bargains to be had. Often vendors are prepared to take offers now to get their property sold before the summer comes.
