Long holidays with family members are gradually becoming less popular, a new poll has found…
Research by Holiday Inn revealed that this summer, only 52% of parents will go away with their children for two weeks. The remainder were found to be increasingly favouring shorter breaks scattered throughout the year.
Chris Hale, spokesperson for Holiday Inn, said: ‘A long weekend every three months has health benefits such as reducing stress caused by everyday life. This trend was also found to have been driven by issues such as parents being unable to get a sufficient amount of time off work or the same dates as their partner.
”The results of the survey also showed that consumers were becoming increasingly savvy. Gone are the bad old days when people would save all year for their annual two-week summer holiday at the busiest and most expensive period”.
